Affordable Implant Solutions

Affordable Implant Solutions

by Yenny (SU)

If you’re looking for affordable solutions for missing teeth, dental implants may be right for you. Dental implants are posts that look and feel like natural teeth, are highly durable, and are very low-maintenance compared to traditional bridges and dentures. They are both a cosmetic solution and a long-lasting treatment for missing teeth.

Not everyone is a good candidate for it, however. It is necessary to have healthy gums and bone to support the implant. Your dentist will use a 3D scanner to see your mouth’s structures and determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants.

Financial considerations may put you off seeing a dentist about dental implants. Fortunately, there are implant solutions that are more budget-friendly. Traditionally, implants are surgically placed into the jawbone until it fuses with the bone for a period of three to six months. Then, crowns or bridges will be attached to them. More affordable options are a bit different.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Also called snap-on dentures, the dentist inserts the implants into the jawbone to serve as anchors for dentures. The dentist attaches a locator to the implants to serve as the base for the dentures, allowing you to snap them on and off. The implants and dentures may be placed in just one visit. Implant-supported dentures reduce the risk of chafing and having dentures slip out of the mouth. They stay securely in place and can be removed for cleaning and maintenance. Implant-supported dentures or snap-on dentures are a more affordable implant solution.

Screw-Retained Dental Implants

Another more affordable implant solution is screw-retained dental implants using the All-on-4® implants system where the dentist places only between two to four dental implants while restoring the entire arch. Fewer implants mean lower costs and the All-on-4 method allows the dentist to place an entire arch mounted on just four implants through strategic positioning of the implant rods.

Missing teeth can take an emotional toll on anyone. The good news is that you now have more treatment options for missing teeth. Make an appointment with a dentist so they can discuss your options with you. Addressing the issue of having missing teeth right now will come out cheaper in the long run. Once bone loss has set in, you may need more extensive procedures that are more costly in order to fix the problem.
